International Gathering of Women-Mountains

articule has the pleasure of inviting you to a performance by Amanda Ruiz Méndez (MTL) as part of the exhibition When the Mountains Move. International Gathering of Women-Mountains invites three women, all activists from Montreal, to weave words written by women land defenders on relationships to the territories where they live.

In solidarity with Wet’suwet’en Nation, and "Jornadas en defensa del territorio / Day in defence of territory: We are all Samir".

Amanda Ruiz Méndez is a Mexican artist based in Montreal. Her work incorporates different modes of collectiveness, from art teaching to participatory performances and activism. She considers social mobilization as a fundamentally creative process where art occupies the public space while cultivating collective memory.
