WINTER GENERAL ASSEMBLY ARTICULE MEMBERS 2024

Winter General Assembly - Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM

Online via Zoom and in-person event - Open to the public, all are welcome !

You must register in advance — RSVP

Dear members and articule friends,

You are kindly invited to our Winter General Assembly, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM. We moved the date to include a Town Hall with a discussion and activity session on the Rainbow Committee's 4001 Berri Moving Project.

Convivial and open to the public, articule’s general assemblies are perfect opportunities to take part in discussions that will affect the centre, get to know member opportunities, and renew or complete the membership process. Your participation is essential in order to approve the Financial Statements for the year 2022-2023.

For this new general assembly, we will address these central points in the agenda :

  • 4 to 4:30 PM - Presentation of the financial statements

  • 4:30 to 5 PM - An overview of the artistic programming & outreach to come 2024-2025

  • 5 to 7 PM - Moving Town Hall - Presentation, discussion and activities - Please note! The presentation will be available online, but the activities will be reserved for in-person participants

* The schedule may vary between 10 and 15 minutes depending on the progress of the presentations.

Moving Town Hall - Presentation, discussion and activities

The Town Hall will be hosted by Sophie Le-Phat Ho, community organizer, consultant, and previous Outreach Coordinator at articule. We will give a presentation on the details of the 4001 Berri moving proposal, bring forward questions and concerns posed by members in the Moving Survey, and go through a group discussion and activity to move us toward a final outcome.

This will be the last opportunity for the membership, staff, and board to make a collective decision before we must confirm/exit our participation in the 4001 Berri project. The central question of the TownHall is: Does being in the Plateau and collaborating with GIV, Ada X, and OBORO align with our values and Basis of Unity?

The other centres POTENTIALLY collaborating in the acquisition of the 4001 Berri building are: MainFilm, SBC Gallery, and Centre Turbine. We would like to take this time to stress that the 4001 Berri building will be renovated to ensure a ground floor gallery, vitrine, and complete wheelchair accessibility prior to a move-in date of 2030. Funds for these renovations will not be compromised and are a condition of our potential acceptance.

For more in-depth details on the logistics and financing, please keep your eyes open for a special information package which will be shared at the AGA and distributed online. Please join us in shaping articule's future space and objectives for the next 5-10 years.

Accessibility Information:

  • Live transcription will be offered in English via a Zoom add-on

  • There will be a break for both online and in-person. Light snacks will be offered in the gallery.
