Solidarity Event - Nuit Blanche, Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 2 to 8 PM

In-person event - Join Montreal Families for Palestine and articule for a family-oriented solidarity activity open to children and people of all ages.

I wish children didn't die. I wish they would be temporarily elevated to the skies until the war ends. Then they would return home safe, and when their parents would ask them: "where were you?", they would say: "we were playing in the clouds."
~ Ghassan Kanafani

Mourning those we’ve lost: in the spirit of mourning and honoring every life lost,  BIRDS OF GAZA is an international community art project where children decorate commemorative birds dedicated to tens of thousands of children martyred, missing or orphaned due to Israel’s siege on Gaza.

Fight like hell for the living: In honor of the many thousands more children still praying for a better future, Families for Palestine offers opportunities for children and caregivers/community members to engage in solidarity activities that honor and fight for those who still need protection.

Several art “stations” will be available for participants to paint, draw, write postcards, and create in solidarity with the children and people of Gaza. Inspired by Free Gaza Circus there will be a child-led dance, as well as short film screenings, and relevant books. Light snacks will be available.

Montreal Families for Palestine is a group of parents, educators, and caregivers from around Tiohtià:ke committed to action, alongside millions across the world, calling for an immediate and lasting Ceasefire and a free Palestine.

Art supplies will be available. articule will provide space for coats and shoes; bring slippers if you’d like. There will be space assigned for quieter reflection recognizing sensory processing needs as well as those who want to reflect or discuss their experiences. Through this action, Montreal Families for Palestine in collaboration with articule hope to create a space for families to connect in solidarity. We recognize the challenges inherent in doing this work with children and seek ways to support one another.
